Pieter van Dokkum is an amateur photographer, focusing mostly on insects, wildlife, and his daughter Celeste (not necessarily in that order). In his spare time he takes pictures of the night sky (see http://www.astro.yale.edu/dokkum/).
Many of the close-ups on these pages were taken with a Canon Rebel XT or a Canon 40D in combination with a 100mm f/2.8 macro lens and a Twin Lite MT-24EX flash.
